About the counsellor:

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts (BA) Murdoch University.  Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).  UWA.  Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW).  This accreditation is awarded to Social Workers assessed by the AASW as having specialist mental health expertise. Registered educator in ‘Circle of Security’ Parenting.

Memberships:
MACSW.  Member of the Australian College of Social Work.  Membership of the ACSW is awarded to Social Workers holding AMHSW and assessed as having significant experience accompanied by advanced Social Work skills, training and knowledge.

AAIMH.  Member Australian Association of Infant Mental Health.

Post Graduate Training:
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT):  Mindfulness practices: Schema Therapy (ST):  Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprogramming (EMDR):  Somatic Experiencing (SE).

Current training: 2017-2018 Certificate Program in ‘Trauma Stress Studies’ through the Trauma Center, at JRI in Boston MA.

If you are considering a Clinical Psychologist, Psychologist, Counsellor, Psychotherapist or Life Coach, you are also invited to consider an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with membership to the Australian College of Social Work.

Work History:
Prior to establishing Village Counselling, Jenny worked in the not-for-profit sector specialising in the area of Domestic Violence (5 years) and the Drug and Alcohol sector (10 years).

This working history has also included the clinical supervision of University students, and counsellors and support staff in not-for-profit organisations.

Jenny established Village Counselling in 2012 after gaining accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker.  Early June 2016, Jenny was assessed as eligible for membership to the Australian College of Social Work.
