Parenting Difficulties

Village Counselling, located in Woodvale WA has been helping women with young children to understand what their young child’s behaviour is trying to tell them.

Specialising in women’s mental health, Village Counselling understands that having a child and parenting comes with many challenges.  Village Counselling also understands that these challenges can become complicated in certain environments or when your own experience of being parented is something you are determined not to repeat with your own child.

Village Counselling is registered to deliver the ‘Circle of Security’ parenting program.  This is an internationally recognised program that assists parents to understand their child’s needs by way of viewing a 10 chapter DVD.  Typically the ‘Circle of Security’ program is offered in group settings at one chapter per session.   However if the environment you parenting in, or your own experiences of being parented were difficult for you, you might prefer to engage in one-on-one sessions.  Doing it this way may also mean you can progress through the chapters more quickly.  This will give you the opportunity to explore candidly how you are feeling and thinking as you engage in the program.

Village Counselling also welcomes working with you and your partner.  Working together is a great way to ensure you are both united in the ways you are understanding and responding to your young child’s needs.
